Gary has been a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Agent with Coosa Valley Financial Group since October of 2015.  He was promoted in 2020 to the position of Operations Manager where he currently oversees all aspects of the company’s operations including insurance, taxes, and accounting.  He is also one of the tax return preparers that you will see working hard during tax season preparing personal tax returns.  Gary is also proficient in our accounting department where he helps run payroll for our clients, creating and submitting year-end 1099s, and other bookkeeping tasks.

Gary is a licensed P&C Insurance Agent in the states of Georgia and Alabama. 



Gary started his career in the United States Air Force as an electronics communication technician.  After being honorably discharged, he moved back to Rome and began working at Riddle Office Supply as a cash register/computer technician.  He later purchased the cash register division from Riddle.  He owned and operated that business for over 18 years before selling it.

Gary has 2 daughters, Kelsey Tortoso and Madeline Kilfoil. He has a grandson, Gavin, and a granddaughter, Alena, both of which are Madeline’s children. He enjoys woodworking, making US flags, and jewelry boxes as well as fishing and cooking.
