Mark Busby
President, Insurance Agent
Rome, GA
Mark Busby received his Bachelor of Science Degree, with a concentration in Computer Science, in May 1992, from Berry College. He later received his Master of Science Degree from Georgia State University in December 1997.
Mark has over 20 years experience in the Tax Industry having begun his career as a programmer for Universal Tax Systems in 1991. He moved on to become the director of IT and later TaxWise development manager. In June of 2001 he became Director of IT for the City of Rome, Georgia. Later in January of 2004 he became CTO of eTax, Inc.
He holds Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, New Jersey, and California Insurance Producers Licenses for Life, Accident and Health Insurance, Property & Causality Insurance, and Long Term Care.
In September of 2009, he and Jeff Barnette started Big Tax, Inc. They later purchased Mills Bookkeeping and Tax in Rome, GA and Precise Bookkeeping and Tax of Taylorsville, GA. In 2013 Big Tax, Inc. acquired the assets of Ace Insurers and Express Tax Refund of Rome.
In the spring of 2014, Big Tax, Inc. was renamed to Coosa Valley Financial Group, Inc. All offices now offer Accounting, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Tax services, and Property and Casualty Insurance. All services are now offered under one corporate name.

Cindy Barnette
Insurance Agent
Cindy is a licensed property, casualty, and life agent for Coosa Valley Financial Group. She began her insurance career with American National Insurance Company in 2013 and then became an agent for Coosa Valley Financial Group in 2014. She offers both personal and business insurance. Previously, Cindy has worked in the Account Management Department at Universal Tax Systems from 2003 to 2007. She then worked for the Floyd County School System from 2007 to 2013.
Cindy grew up in Powder Springs, GA where she graduated from McEachern High School. She then attended college at ABAC in Tifton, GA and then moved to Rome in 1996. She currently resides with her two children Belle and Ezra. When she is not working, Cindy enjoys spending time with her children and watching their activities, playing tennis, and running.
Gary Busby
Operations Manager, Insurance Agent
Gary Busby is a native Roman, having graduated from Coosa High School. Gary is a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was an Electronic Communications Maintenance Specialist for the Airborne Command Post stationed out of Omaha Nebraska. Gary then owned Reliable Cash Registers in Rome for over 17 years, selling and servicing cash registers and computer equipment all over northwest Georgia. Gary began working for Coosa Valley Financial Group in September of 2015. Gary is the manager of the 413 Shorter Ave. location and he is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance agent. Gary's experience as a small business owner, expertise in the information technology field, and commitment to excellence in customer service make him an asset to Coosa Valley Financial Group. Gary has two daughters, Madeline who is also in the United States Air Force and Kelsey who is studying to be a Medical Sonographer. In his spare time, Gary enjoys working on cars and fishing.
